Scorpion Containment Solutions is a trusted industry supplier and installer of geosynthetics and environmental protection products used in containment structures such as ponds, landfills, tanks and secondary spill containment facilities.
When Scorpion contacted KLD, they were operating under the name Scorpion Plastics. Over ten years in business the business had evolved, and their website — that was focused on green solutions — was so out of date to the point of not reflecting what their main services were.
Did the name still make sense? Honestly no, it didn’t. ‘Plastics’ was too broad a term, and was misleading. Scorpion’s main business was providing large geosynthetic liners for landfills, not plastic bottles.
Before we dived into the website refresh, we addressed the name problem by renaming the company ‘Scorpion Containment’ and updating the old logo with a geometric representation of a scorpion tail.
For the website content, we started with Scorpion materials and created a site plan and a first draft of the main content. Then we worked closely with Scorpion staff to revise content for industry accuracy and source real images from job sites. A custom icon set was designed to make navigating the site more inviting, and animations were added to add more splash.
Once the WordPress website was complete, designing a brochure was straightforward. We edited down the text to fit a 12 page services brochure, and re-used many of the images gathered for the website.
Today, Scorpion Containment continues to grow and is regarded as one of the top three geosynthetic suppliers/installers across Canada.
